Hi everyone,
This is definitely one of those unexpected topics on the blog. One might find it very unnecessary but if your answer is "no" to the following questions then keep reading: Are you feeling comfortable in your wear at home? Comfortable enough to greet unexpected visitors or do you have to run and change? Can you just grab you handbag to go grocery shopping or to go to the drugstore. If you have to change for any of these, you should consider making some minor changes.
Instead of wearing your old clothes that are so worn and threadbare they only belongs to garbage, you may want to consider the following options. I am sure that does not require a lot of investment because most of them are already in your closet. Quick tips: Any running errands look is appropriate to wear at home. However, here are some 5 options to consider. They can be worn with some cute flats :-)
1- Cotton dresses: anything cute but comfy - maxis are my favorite in this category;
2- shorts and cute Tees or camisoles - You can't go wrong with that options especially if you have toddlers like me;
3- sweatpants or yoga pants and cotton camisole or tees - My go tos for the cold season;
4- Cotton skirts - I love maxi skirts best but short is also fine.
5- comfortable jeans and blouse
Also, you don't need makeup but clear and properly hydrate skin and lips and avoid messy hair. To be frank, I personally enjoy spending my lazy days with my silk or cotton PJs with cute flats and a high bun. I find the look to be so sexy :-).

I definitely do NOT look as cute as you right now as I sit at home. :) I wouldn't want to answer the door looking like I do either. ha. Thanks for the reminder that we don't have to wear ratty clothes just because we're having an at-home day.
ReplyDeleteYou welcome Lisa :-)
DeleteI loved this topic. Very helpful. Will definitely adopt.
ReplyDeleteWas just waiting to see the outfit tou wear on this post with flats... wondering of that would be a stay at home option as is
Indeed- Flat is the way to go with the outfit - but as a petite woman- I looked better photographed in heels -lol
DeleteI do like to be dressed when I am just hanging around at home as well for all the reasons you stated plus it makes me feel more productive when I am dressed. However, I have been so tired and cold lately, that I am generally bundled up in sweatpants and a bathrobe as soon as the kids are home from school. I love your olive green dress! Thanks for linking up.

Thanks Shelbee- I feel you. I live in the mountain in a caribbean country and lately it's been so cold that I sweatpants and sweatshirts become "my thing" lol but still manage to wear them cleaned and unwrinkled :-)
DeleteI am 100% into looking nice at home and your suggestions are pretty much me. I live in a casual country (New Zealand) where we spend a lot of time outdoors, so casual goes from inside to going out to evening.
ReplyDeleteHello there- thank you for sharing your feedback. I guess those rules does not apply to you as I assumed you get dressed everyday :-)
DeleteThis dress is so chic. You look stunning.
ReplyDeletethank you,
DeleteI don't wear shoes in the house (too many germs can be brought in that way!) but I do most often wear shorts or a maxi skirt on my days at home with the boys - we usually have a trip to the park planned sometime through the day so I need to wear something presentable, haha!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great start to your week! A bit of a wet one here with all this rain!
