Hi everyone,
Self-reflection is vital if you want to live your life by design. Just as you should review each day, week, and month, at the end of each year you should set aside a block of time to review the year and reflect on it. This is allow you to do all the following:

- Recognize your accomplishments and give yourself kudos for what you did well.
- Reflect on the lessons you learned, as well as the knowledge and skills you acquired.
- Acknowledge your mistakes and missteps so you can use them as a self-improvement tool.
- Analyze how you could do better moving forward.
- Figure out what gives you joy and what you’re truly passionate about.
As for me, 2019 has been pretty chaotic - as for most (if not all) of the people living in my island. With political unrests and kids not able to go to school. Employees being laid off home because employers don't have the necessary means to support their daily activities. Others had to call it quits while some of them were completely burned down for no reason. Do I need to mention how that instability impacted our already precarious economy. However, I would like to pride myself on the following:
- I am happy for life, health and family. I am grateful that we were able to homeschool the kids along with the school so they didn't miss much
- I was able to follow my passion as a personal/wardrobe stylist and resume my blogging activities and things have been going well
- I have learned how to keep the balance between my full-time job, my life as a mom and wife and also this new venture that require a lot of patience and time to develop
- I made a few mistakes along the way but last year I asked for more wisdom, I think I made a lot of improvement but I still have to work on it. I took notes of my missteps wrote down a plan to overcome them
- Moving forward, I want to be happy, focus on my passion and turned it into a full-time job. I also need more time for me. Lately, I got rid of toxic people and those that I am forced to co-exist with not longer have this power of "turning my blood into water" anymore. Kudos!

I didn't have time to reflect on the year 2019 yet. But it is necessary. I can't to set my goals for 2020 without it. It seems that 2019 wasn't easy on you. I have feeling that it was very turbulent year for a lot of people. Let's hope that the next year will be kind to us.

DeleteWow, it must be extra challenging to keep a level head with all of the unrest that is going on around you. If you are able to self-assess your flaws, it will serve you really well. It's so hard to do, isn't it?

ReplyDeleteI am safe for now. Thank you for asking. I am in Haiti so although we have some small ones from time to time. it's been 10 years (on Jan 12 actually) that we have had a catastrophe leading to hundred of thousands deaths
